Abstract

The composition and pressure effects on the spin reorientation temperature (Tsr) for Mn2-xFexSb have been measured. The composition dependence of Tsr increases rapidly with increasing x at normal atmospheric pressure. The pressure dependence of Tsr for Mn1.9Fe0.1Sb increases linearly with increasing applied pressure and the value of dTsr/dp is +3.14 K/kbar. On the basis of the pressure and composition effects on Tsr, the microscopic origin of the magnetic anisotropy of Mn2-xFexSb is discussed.
