Abstract

The spin-orbit interaction effects on the energetics of a negative donor centre localized in a 3D Gaussian GaAs quantum dot placed in a magnetic field are studied variationally by using a unitary transformation and a Jastrow function to incorporate the role of Coulomb interaction. The Dresselhaus interaction is shown to increase the binding of the negative donor. The diamagnetic susceptibility and the dipole moment of the system are also calculated.
