Abstract

The asymmetry for quasielastic inclusive scattering of polarized electrons by polarized $^{3}\mathrm{He}$ has been computed for the first time in terms of a spin dependent spectral function obtained from a realistic three-body wave function without using the closure approximation. It is shown that a proper choice of kinematics minimizes the proton contribution to the asymmetry, which therefore becomes very sensitive to different models of the electromagnetic form factors of the neutron. The calculated asymmetry qualitatively agrees with the available experimental data.
