Abstract

By reaction of iron (II) salts with 4-cyclopropl-1,2,4-triazole, hereafter abbreviated as 4-C3trz, one trinuclear compound has been synthesized, namely [Fe3(4-C3trz)6(H2O)6] (ClO4)6 (1). Singe-crystal X-ray diffraction indicated that compound 1 crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group R 3¯. The lattice parameters are as follows: a = 12.2025(5) Å, b = 12.2025(5) Å, c = 12.2025(5) Å, α = β = γ = 68.62(6)°, Z = 4. Furthermore, variation temperature magnetic susceptibility and heat capacity tests reveal the existence of spin transitions in compound 1.
