Abstract
The relative intensities of about 260 spectral lines belonging mainly to Fe I, Cr I and Ca I and II emitted by the free jet plasma of our electrothermal gun were measured. Values of kT = 0.48 eV and N e = 1.5 × 10 17 cm -3 for the brightness temperature and peripheral electron density, respectively, of the plasma were obtained. A connection between kT and the relative abundances of the plasma components was observed. The above mentioned values serve as lower limits to those of the central plasma parameters.
