Abstract

The infrared and electronic absorption spectra of semicarbazidehydrochloride and its complexes with anthracene, tetracyanoquinodimethane TCNQ, Na-fluorescein and cupferron wererecorded in the regions 200–4000cm-1 and200–400nm. The new bands that appeared in the complex spectrawere assigned. The effect of the complex formation on the frequencyand intensity of the active vibrational bands was also studied. Theinternal energy changes of the complexes were calculated in a new lineof calculation to give a clear insight about the stability of theinvestigated complexes. The electrical conductivity of the complexes was measured in the temperature range 25–130°C. The activation energy E was calculated and discussed on the basis of the spectroscopic information.
