Abstract

Data on the feeding of larvae of mass Black Sea fish species of the families Blenniidae and Gobiidae with a length of 2.2–7.0 mm from coastal waters of the Crimea (Sevastopol) are presented. Despite the tendency for an improvement in the feeding of larval fish, Mnemiopsis leidyi, in the case of a prolonged staying in the plankton in mass amounts in the absence of Beroe ovata, exerts a negative effect on the food resources and the survival of larvae. This is evidenced by the indices of food consumption and the proportion of larvae with empty intestines.
