Abstract

The mosaic of spatial localities of Soldanella hungarica Simonk was investigated in the ecotones at the boundary between the subalpine and forest vegetation belts of the Carpathian mountains. It has been shown that in extreme cases the nonuniform group arrangement and limited share of high-vitality individuals create more possibilities for seed reproduction and stable renewal of generations in local aggregations, but at the same time hinder the formation of the integrated continuous population field of S. hungarica in Carpathian ecotones.
