Abstract

In this paper we present an analysis of time and space resolved development of all typical regimes of low‐pressure DC discharge in argon — low current Townsend discharge, oscillations and constrictions of discharge and high current glow discharges. Our work is based on ICCD recordings of discharge structure, synchronized with current and voltage measurements. Special care is given to radial effects and influence of dielectric walls during development of glow discharge structure.
