Abstract

The authors demonstrate long-range coherent optical frequency domain reflectometry (C-OFDR) with an auxiliary feedback-control circuit to linearise frequency sweep. They successfully suppress the sweep nonlinearity, and achieve spatial resolutions of 14 cm and 50 m, respectively, at the far ends of 1 and 30 km optical fibres.
