Abstract

The spatial distributions of soil moisture and nutrient content, germinable seeds and flowering annual forbs around individual perennial bunch grassses, and the distribution of flowering forbs around points where grasses were removed, were analysed to determine if grasses could influence dynamics of wet and dry sites in a midsuccessional oldfield in South Carolina, USA.
