Abstract

A flower-like oxidized graphene and metal silver nanoparticles composite (AgNPs@GO) was prepared by a spray-drying and annealing process. The AgNPs@GO exhibits three-dimensional (3D) multi-layer heterojunction structure and high surface area, which can reduce the overpotential of lithium deposition, decrease lithium dendrites, and stabilize lithium storage. Especially, an excellent electrochemical performance is obtained due to the space-confined feature of AgNPs@GO structure. At 0.25 mA cm−2 for 0.5 mAh cm−2, the AgNPs@GO-300 reveals a hysteresis voltage of only 32.3 mV at the 10th cycle and a stable coulombic efficiency of 97.1% after nearly 1000 h cycles, indicating promising prospects as lithium metal anode.
