Abstract

The sorption properties of the corrugated surface of PAN-based high-modulus carbon fiber by high-fluence irradiation with 30keV Ar+ ions at the irradiation temperature of T=220-230°C have been studied. The effect of carbon fiber corrugation leads to a multiple increase in specific surface area. Analysis of the specific surface area data for irradiated and non-irradiated fiber has been shown the influence of corrugation on increasing in sorption capacity and distribution of mesopores by size
