Abstract

An attempt to reveal general features of the response of biological systems to the action of ultrasound without considering details of primary processes of the interaction of ultrasound with biological media is presented. Dependence of bioeffects on the inten- sity, exposure time, and temporal characteristics of irradiation are qualitatively analyzed. The role of dynamic properties of the living systems in the formation of the response to an external action is considered. The factors defining thresholds of biological effects of ultrasound are discussed.
