Abstract

A series of tetramethylcucurbit[6]uril-anchored polyacrylic acids (TMeQ[6]-anchored PAAs) were synthesized in the presence of ammonium persulfate (APS) as both an initiator and an oxidant according to Su's one-pot strategy. The effects of acrylic acid concentration, TMeQ[6] feed mass, and APS concentration on the formation of the polymers were investigated. TMeQ[6]-anchored PAAs can be further esterified with phenol to yield water-insoluble derivatives, thereby permitting the absorption and desorption of antiseptic molecules.
