Abstract

Soliton solutions in the SU(2) chiral quark model are studied for different values of a constituent mass $M$ and quark axial-vector coupling ${g}_{A}$. It is shown that there exists a critical quark mass ${M}_{\mathrm{cr}}$ above which the energetically stable soliton solutions appear. Moreover, as the constituent quark mass increases the soliton mass becomes smaller than the free-quark threshold.
