Abstract

The dipolar second moment M 2 and the relaxation times T 1 and T 1 ϱ are derived for polycrystalline solids in which nuclei are transferred between sites of unequal energy. The expressions derived are applicable to proton transfer in hydrogen bonds in solids. An example of the utility of these expressions is provided by polycrystalline α- d-glucose.
