Abstract
A computer-aided software engineering (CASE) tool has been developed that is designed to support simultaneously two important software engineering methodologies, namely, the software life-cycle and rapid-prototyping methodologies. At the code generation stage, the tool can generate error-free source code for user-defined application systems. For the rapid generation of source code, a series of so-called ‘program segments’ has been introduced. Guided by certain rules, they can be integrated to form small-scale software integrated circuits (SICs), which can be further integrated to build large-scale SICs, and finally establishing the entire application system.
