Abstract

The GEOS mission is to carry out measurements of particle and electro-magnetic phenomena in the magnetosphere, using a number of instruments on a geostationary platform. The control logic for these experiments resides in a ground control centre operating in closed loop with the spacecraft. In such an investigatory mission it is important that the experimenter can tailor the control alaorithm in the light of operational experience. This naper shows how the parametric description of control data, and a custom-built lanquage provide the flexibility to meet these aims.
