Abstract

Content Distribution Network (CDN) technology provides the best solution for the application of Media Streaming. The hardware CDN has shortcomings such as high price, lack of flexibility, hard management and configuration. In this paper, a software CDN model was built. The key strategies of load balancing, content distribution and file transfer were explored in software CDN. The algorithm both a load balancing based on load balancing with latency and a content distribution of the non-hot media based on Markov prediction were proposed. On the basis, a video on demand system was designed to verify the feasibility of the proposed program. Furthermore, the system provides a solution for similar uses.
