Abstract
To address the importance of the SOC estimation of the lithium-ion battery and the problems of current traditional algorithms, we study and verify that the extended Kalman filter algorithm has higher accuracy in estimating lithium-ion battery SOC. Based on the comparative analysis of classical SOC estimation, we investigate the construction and working theory of the lithium-ion battery and analyze the battery-equivalent circuit model to obtain the identification parameters through experimental tests. Then, we create the extended Kalman filtering algorithm with experiments and combine it with the second-order RC equivalent circuit model to establish a comprehensive battery simulation model with MATLAB/Simulink. Finally, compared with the SOC estimation results of the orthodox algorithm, experimental results prove that the extended Kalman filter algorithm enhances the SOC calculation accuracy of lithium-ion batteries.
