Abstract

An ambitious multi-application smart card scheme was launched in the UK borough of Bracknell Forest at the end of September. The ‘edge’ smart card replaces an existing non-smart card based loyalty scheme, and could eventually provide a host of useful services to citizens. Like its predecessor, however, it will also offer deals and discounts in hundreds of shops and stores in the borough. This is a short news story only.
