Abstract

In the course of observations of Pleiades on the 40'' Schmidt telescope of Byurakan Observatory, one slow and two rapid flares were detected in star No. 103. The rise time to the maximum of the flare was ~40 min and the total duration was about 5 h. The brightness magnitudes and photographs of the flare are shown. A statistical analysis of a number of pre-maximum images of flare stars in Pleiades and Orion, taken with different exposures, was carried out. The slow flare stars in Orion and Pleiades are compared. (auth)
