Abstract

Descriptions and limited analytical and experimental data on various slot radiators in the narrow wall of septated rectangular waveguides operating in even and odd modes are presented. Some of the advantages over conventional waveguide slot radiators are 1) polarization diversity, 2) arbitrary prescribed phase and amplitude control at each slot, 3) they can have the advantages of directionally coupled radiators, 4) the concepts can be applied to septated or two-layer parallel plate antennas such as pillboxes and other geodesic antennas with even and odd excitations.
