Abstract
Abstract In transmission electron microscopy it is often observed that an extinction band is intersected by a dislocation and thereby the path of the extinction band is modified. The method of analysis described here is based on data obtained from observations of such configurations. It is further expanded to observations of related contrast effects. Full account is taken of the pseudo-vector character of the Burgers vector.
