Abstract
The spontaneous increase in magnetic moment of magnet 31 LC has been the subject of two previous reports. The present paper, in furnishing approximately six additional years of data, reveals that the rate of increase of magnetic moment is now approaching zero, indicating the near extinction of this magnet's remarkable quality. The total increase in moment has been nearly 1.5 pct. In contrast, a similar magnet, made in 1941 from the same type of steel, but not heat‐treated at the same time, has shown a six per cent decrease in magnetic moment.
