Abstract
Aim: Sirtuin (SIRT) 1 has been demonstrated to act protectively during the progression of atherosclerosis, but the underlying mechanisms involved are unclear. The authors investigated the role played by SIRT1 in TLR2-mediated monocyte adhesion to vascular endothelium; a key early event during the progression of atherosclerosis.
