Abstract

Enchondromas are benign intramedullary tumors composed of nodules of hyaline cartilage. They are histologically distinct from chondromas, which are primarily soft tissue tumors. This is the first reported case in the literature of a solitary sinonasal enchondroma. Local recurrences are uncommon after gross total resection. More data are needed to conclude whether solitary sinonasal enchondromas can transform to malignant tumors, as has been reported with patients with multiple enchondromas such as in Maffucci's and Ollier's disease.
