Abstract

Summary The behaviour of viscous crossflow was investigated by the co-injection of foam. A fractured model was constructed by using the single porosity model. Foam was injected into the fracture in three different cases. The observed viscous crossflow within the matrix media was confirmed by previously carried out experimental results. Moreover, it was shown that foam behaviour in the fracture and matrix has distinct effects on the diversion of fluids from the fracture to the matrix.
