Abstract

Based on the study of the different control methods of various hybrid electric vehicles, this paper proposes a control strategy employing power follower and thermostat. This strategy takes the battery SOC value and the engine output torque as the primary controlling factors, compiles its control status flow using Stateflow, and matches parameters of various components of the vehicle according to the design requirements. It then develops modeling and simulation on the ADVISOR simulation platform to obtain an optimal energy distribution control strategy. Simulation results indicate that using this control strategy can significantly improve the efficiency of the engine and make the battery work in the optimal condition.
