Abstract
The variance of cross-phase modulation-phase error induced by low bit rate on-off keying (OOK) channels is analytically estimated based on the stochastic properties of random binary sequences. These results may be applied to coherent quadrature phase-shift keying transmission systems with neighboring 10-Gb/s OOK channels.
