Abstract
The one-Killing-vector vacuum equations are a set of partial differential equations in three independent variables. To make them tractable, one usually assumes the existence of a second commuting Killing vector field. In this paper, the full set of Lie-point symmetries of the equations and the related (other) possible reductions to differential equations in two independent variables are discussed.
