Abstract

A brief review of the literature on VUR is presented associated with data on cystograms of 100 patients with injuries of the spinal cord. The incidence of VUR is 16 per cent. Marked trabeculation of the bladder is not essential for this occurrence since it was exhibited in only about half the patients. Injuries of proximal portion of the spinal cord and their long-standing appear to predispose the development of VUR. One instance of the intramural ureteral herniation phenomenon was found. No evidence of contracture of the fibrotic ureteral orifice was encountered in our series.
