Abstract

This work tells the use of SpringWeb software in the course of Introduction to the Cartography, given in the first semester of 2002to the students of the Department of Geography (University of Sao Paulo), and approaches the main aspects of the integration of data that give support to it. The possibilities to outside work of the schedule and place of lesson, to associate the basic concepts of Cartography and to minimize the investment in software and the hardware are considered the main advantages of this application. The disadvantages is relate to the heterogeneous knowledge of computer science of the students, necessity of use of broad band to have access the exercise and requirement of installation, in the first access, of one plug-in (Java program).
