Abstract

Objective: According to the recently revised Fédération Internationale de Gynécologie et d' Obstétrique (FIGO) staging classification, women with ovarian carcinoma and inguinal lymph nodes (LN) metastases, formerly stage III, are now considered stage IVB. The prognostic significance of this classification has yet to be evaluated. In this retrospective study we compare the survival of these patients to that of women with stage III (with aortic and/or pelvic LN metastases) and stage IV (due to distant metastasis) disease.
