Abstract

The studies in Chap. 2 focus on the long-term (time-independent) risk evaluation of integrated electricity and gas systems (IEGS), where the steady gas flow model is utilized. However, the previous techniques can be not fully applicable for evaluating the short-term risk of IEGS on the operational horizon (Ding et al. in IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy 5:896–906, Jul 2014). Short-term risk is formulated on the time-scale of hours to days, during which the dynamics of gas flow are significantly slower than those of electricity flow.
