Abstract

One of the most important criteria of shipping safety applied in marine traffic engineering to estimate safety level is ship's movement path. Previous research has indicated that there is necessity to verify methods used to determine ship's movement path. The main aim of this verification should be definition the type of random variable distribution used to determine ship's movement path. The statistical analysis of simulation research results is presented in the paper. This research has related to shipping safety during ship's passing the fairway. The type of random variable distribution has been defined on the base of this research. The consequences presented in the paper are very helpful for analysis of marine traffic engineering research results.
