Abstract

What has been the impact of the growth of service practices on the evolution of feminism in Quebec ? Having situated the origins of these practices and the transforming effects that they have had, the accent is put on the subordinate integration of a part of the “women’s movement” into state management of “women’s problems” and on the possible effects of the social economy on the activities of women’s groups. All this makes it possible to note that women, far from becoming political subjects, are still largely the object of social relations which shape their relationship to the state.
