Abstract

In this paper, we analyze the exact average symbol error probability (SEP) of general rectangular quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) signal for single-input multiple-output (SIMO) system over independent but not necessarily identical Nakagami-g (Hoyt) fading channels. The maximal-ratio combining (MRC) is considered as the diversity technique. The average SEP is obtained in terms of the Lauricelia multivariate hypergeometric function. It is further shown that our general SEP expression includes some previously known results as special cases.
