Abstract

Glassy carbon electrodes were modified by drop casting carbon nanomaterials, graphene oxide, GO, and multi-walled carbon nanotubes, MWCNTs, alone, mixed together (Composite) or in the form of bi-layers. The reduction of GO was carried out by means of a green approach consisting of 10 voltammetric cycles (CV) from 0 to –1.5 V, vs SCE at the scan rate of 0.05 V s-1, in acetate buffer 0.1 M at pH 4.5. The modified electrode was characterised by SEM, ATR-IR and UV-Vis analysis. Various compounds, like catechol and paracetamol, were investigated by cyclic voltammetry to find out which one responds most effectively to the modified electrode. Chronoamperometry was emplyed to prepare an analytical method for the determination of various analytes like L-cysteine, hydrazine.
