Abstract

Magnetoelastic properties of glass-coated CoMnSiB amorphous microwires with nearly zero magnetostriction constant have been studied. Effects of external tensile stress on magnetic bistability and on GMI effect exhibited by microwires with adecuated CoMnSiB compositions of metallic nucleus have also been investigated. These dependencies, used in the design of new magnetoelastic sensors, are related with the magnetoelastic anisotropy induced by the external stress via magnetoelastic coupling.
