IVRY ALFRED IVRY (Ph D, Brandeis; D Phil., Oxford) is Associate Professor of Arabic and Hebrew Studies in the Department of Semitic Languages and Literatures at Cornell University He has just recently returned from an extended stay in North Africa and Israel, made possible by Fulbright and National Endowment for the Humatuties research grants. Professor Ivry is the author of a number of articles in Islamic and medieval Jewish philosophy, as well as a book, Al-Kindī's Metaphysics (summer, 1974).
