Self-Efficacy and Organizational Citizenship Behavior toward Quality of Teacher Service Indonesia, Case in Banten Province

Abstract

The objective of this study was to find out the strength of the relationship between teacher self-efficacy and OCB and teacher service quality. Teacher self-efficacy is a process of belief in all abilities which include self-confidence, adaptability, cognitive abilities, intelligence, and motivation. Meanwhile, the Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) of teachers is a voluntary behavior of teachers to educate beyond the standards set by the school. These two variables are assumed to affect service quality to achieve quality education. To achieve this goal, research was conducted on teachers in Cilegon City using a survey method. Then, to determine the relationship between variables and the weight of each indicator of each variable, the Scientific Identification Theory to Conduct Operation Research in Education Management (Sitorem) method is used. The number of samples in this study was 179 teachers. The sample used was a proportional random sampling technique. The results showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between the teacher self-efficacy and OCB variables and the teacher service quality variable. The value of the correlation coefficient between teacher efficacy and service quality is \(r_{y1} = 0.626(P<0.01)\). Meanwhile, the correlation coefficient between OCB and service quality is \(r_{y2} = 0.316(P<0.01)\). Based on the results of the analysis, it shows that teacher self-efficacy and OCB can improve service quality.
