Abstract

Background: Exercise performance can be affected by time of day, but it is unknown whether there are subsequent physiological adaptations or health implications. These data provide preliminary findings from a large randomised controlled trial investigating exercise time of day on body composition and health outcomes. A key facet of the trial is to identify if time of day (morning or evening) influences exercise intensity and/or if getting matched according to your chronotype or preference influences exercise intensity during the sessions.
