Abstract

You attend the delivery of a baby born by spontaneous onset normal vaginal delivery at 34+3 weeks gestation. The baby is born in good condition but develops increased work of breathing at a few minutes of life. Antenatal scans and serology were unremarkable except for polyhydramnios. There was no prolonged rupture of membranes or maternal temperature and maternal GBS status was negative. The mother was given one dose of antenatal steroids.
