Abstract

A new zeolite based catalyst which can reduce NO x emissions from sources operating at temperatures outside the range of conventional catalytic processes has been developed. This zeolitic SCR (selective catalytic reduction) catalyst extends the maximum operating temperature for the reduction of NO x using NH 3 from ca. 425°C for standard V 2O 5/TiO 2 (V/Ti) catalysts up to ca. 600°C. This paper discusses the performance of this new SCR catalyst relative to other commercial SCR catalysts, i.e., those based on platinum and V/Ti. Laboratory, pilot plant and commercial results are presented.
