Abstract
General trend in the world is using woody biomass for the purpose of generating energy. In an effort to prepare biomass in a form suitable for automatic operation of thermal power plant technology was developed preparing biomass in the form of wood chips. The aim of this paper is to analyze the physical and chemical characteristics of the wood chip production technology of its production, transport, storage and use (supply chain), as well as to show the calculation of its market value. In the existing technology in the preparation of wood chips are adequate solutions for all stakeholders in the so-called fuel chain (harvesting, preparation, transportation, drying, storage and dosing). The total price of wood chips with all the logistics cost is 10.81 RSD/kg, which adopted the euro value of 123 RSD/EUR exchange rate amounts to 87.89 EUR/t. With regard to the case of wood materials of low humidity, calorific value and satisfactory form suitable for automatic operation of thermal power plants listed price of woodchips is the competitive aspect of the market and cost-effective to use for the purpose of generating energy.
