Abstract
ABSTRACT This study proposed a novel steel roller isolation bearing (SRIB). Compared with the traditional rolling bearing, the symmetrical hyperboloid and the contact arc in the middle of the rolling surface made SRIB have stable working performance. The actual mechanical properties of SRIB were obtained by theoretical analysis, experiment and numerical studies. Particular attention was the damping of SRIB that was very small, so the magneto-rheological damper was used as an additional damping device to work with SRIB. The results shown that SRIB had stable and good seismic isolation performance and had better control effect combined with additional damping device.
