Abstract

The paper deals with identification of segments of SME in Moravian Silesian region (MSR) based upon a survey of information and communication technologies (ICT) utilization among small and medium enterprises (SME). The aim of the paper is to suggest a segmentation of SME with regard to the level of ICT utilization. Wide adopted theory of entrepreneurship supports the assumption that ICT is essential for SME competitiveness. It has its stake in all business processes. We have to distinguish what ICT services are suitable and necessary for each business sector or size. The aim of the paper is to present results of analysis based on data gathered form questionnaire survey among SME in MSR. Differences between large companies and SME in ICT requirements are taken to account. The article includes literature and research review, description of methodology, presentation of results and discussion.
