Abstract

This article captures the contributions of members of the Meaning Summit Panels featured during the 2014 Congress on the Construction of Personal Meaning. It describes collaborative efforts to define the construct of meaning, establish measures of global and situational meaning, and clarify universal characteristics of meaning and related interventions that apply across cultures. The article identifies key points of consensus and areas of ongoing debate among meaning researchers regarding the conceptualization of meaning, and clarifies efforts to establish a more unified meaning research and practice agenda.
